podcast ads

why all the ads at the beginning of podcasts now? there are up to 5 or 6 ads before the podcast plays. i have premium family. should be NO ads.

While Spotify doesn't stop ad-supported music on Premium accounts, some podcasts may contain ads, sponsored messages, or endorsements read by the hosts.

These ad choices during podcasts are determined by the content administrators, not Spotify itself, and it is not possible to remove them in any subscription.

I pay for premium. It clearly states "No ads" yet we are now given ads at the beginning of podcasts. Podcasts have advertisements at the beginning, middle and now at the end. Yes, the middle is to do with the podcast sponsorship - whatever. But having ads at the beginning is ridiculous. Like I said, we don't pay Spotify a premium price to listen to ads. Spotify does not disclose this and tbh, they should be reducing their prices if they are expecting us to pay to listen to ads, creator enabled or not.

What I mean is, this just started. Like 2 days ago. I’ve been listening to podcasts for years. Never had want says “Spotify ad” before the ad starts.Never did that before. I understand that they have ads in the podcast. I get that. But this is different. It’s at the beginning only sometimes up to 6 ads.

This depends a lot on the podcast, sometimes there may be more ads because advertisers end up putting more.

These new ads are not part of the podcast. They are played before the podcast content starts playing and appear as "Spotify Advertisement" in the app. If I listen to the podcast on a different platform, they don't appear. For me, the same add repeats multiple times before the podcast content starts playing.

I presume this is a bug. If not, t will likely cancel my Premium Family subscription and switch to another platform.

These are “Spotify ads” not connect to the podcast. They are regular commercials.

Podcasts often include some advertising. This has been the case since the early days of podcasts and remains true today, including on Spotify. Therefore, even as a Premium user, you may receive advertising or sponsored messages when you play a podcast. Please note that as a Premium user, you still enjoy an ad-free music listening experience.

Rubbish! These are Spotify ads not the podcast endorsements. We pay premium for a reason we shouldn’t be getting ANY Spotify ads only the host read ones!! What a scam you are!
