Can't download Spotify Kids for iOS in Switzerland.

My Question or Issue

I previously let my kids listen through my spotify account. Since I have seen that there is now spotify kids I have changed my subscription to premium family and now wanted to download the apps for my kids. They have an ipad.
But I can not download the app through the appstore.
"App not available in your country." But why? The Spotify Kids website was in German.

Is there any solution how i can get the app on ipad?
Do I have to change the country to germany? will it work then?

Stupid question but why don't you write on the website that the app is not available in switzerland? German is also our official language. Don't forget Lichtenstein and Austria.

Thanks for coming to the Community.

Spotify Kids is currently only available in a few countries, such as Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Germany, etc.

Unfortunately, if you'd like to use Spotify Kids, you'll need to wait until it becomes available in Switzerland before you'll be able to use it.

Regarding your last question: I recommend taking a close look at the URLs 🙂
https://www.spotify.com/de/kids/ - /de/ stands for Germany, and Spotify Kids is available there which explains why the page works.

https://www.spotify.com/ch-de/kids/ - /ch-de/ stands for Switzerland (German), and Spotify Kids isn't available there, which is why it results in a 404 page.

I am highly annoyed! I've wasted hours trying to set up the spotify account for my daughter who is 10 years old. In order to have the Spotify app to work I'd have to change the parent control settings on the iPad to 17+. Not willing to do that just so she can hear music. I've been using Spotify since the beginning. But It seems I am forced to change as you offer not alternatives. Very disappointing Spotify. You released Spotify Kids in 2020, it's been 2 years. Why is it still not available in Switzerland?

I do agree with MerlinZ - it particularly makes no sense to have the Premium Family offering available in Switzerland (for a higher monthly fee than in Germany) if the Kids app is not available, especially if there is no explicit mention of this circumstance during the purchasing process.

This is misleading - if it is not suitable for parents looking for a solution to provide their younger children with a safe way to listen to music, it shouldn't be called "Family"!

Very tedious. Even more so that I find the info that Spotify Kids is not available in Switzerland, only after tedious search hidden somewhere and Spotify does not make me aware of it!

I am also very disappointed and particularly moved by the Spotify Family package because of this issue, and the costs have even increased. There should be a refund if this main reason for the upgrade didn't work in Switzerland. Please inform me when Spotify Kids becomes available or consider reducing the family subscription fee for countries that can't use this feature.

This is an unbelievable discrimination of Swiss people!!! Higher price than in Germany, but missing essential functionality!

Same issue as with the above writers. Just did the update to Spotify family only to try for hours to somehow get spotify kids to work, only to find out that it is not available. The whole upgrade to familiy didn't make any sense then. 

Any no further comment form spofify? Come on, at least an estimate on the date would be nice. Or sorry, we are working on it...

Indeed horiffic that one would be forced to create a fake email and age for kids
1. most importantly to ensure that the kids only listen to appropriate content
2. keep sanity in parents play lists

I agree on everything written in the previous posts! The Kids-App is definitely needed. 

I would like to provide my son soothing music to sleep by, or kidsmusic to play with. I didn't purchase the family-account so he can look (!!!) at videogametutorials!!! At this rate I will have to look for alternatives.

As a longterm user I want to point out the necessity of this app in Switzerland.

I have a Spotify Familly subscription and would like to use Spotify Kids for my two kids but the application is not available in Apple App Store (in Switzerland). I really don’t understand this restriction and why we cannot use the same app as in France for French-speaking people or Germany for German-speaking people.

Antwortet spotify nicht mehr auf diese Frage? Ich bezahle jeden Monat für eine Dienstleistung die nicht verfügbar ist. Eine Stellungnahme und ein zeitplan wäre das mindeste, 2 jahre nach eröffnung der frage. Es ist ein bescheidenes häckchen eine app für ein weiteres land freizugeben. Wo liegt der unterschie zu de?  Wo liegt das problem?
