Not being able to join Premium Family Plan despite being invited

My Question or Issue

Hello! I have been using Premium Family Plan for a few years now and I've never encountered a problem like this, and I am the only one in the family plan who is facing this issue.... 

 

I have just paid the monthly subscription for Premium Family and have been sent the invitation, but once I accept the invitation and log in, I'm redirected to a page that says "You can't join this plan. You can join someone else's Premium Plan only once every 12 months." when usually it would direct me to the page where I would confirm my location/address. 

 

No one else in my family plan has this problem and can successfully log in and use Spotify now! Please could somebody help me with this?

Thanks for coming to the Community.

 

Premium Family is a discount plan for up to 6 family members who live together. Each person on the plan uses their own account, so no one shares a password and everyone keeps their own saved music and playlists.

 

The owner of the subscription is the one who pays and they get to invite the members.

 

Also, there are no monthly charges for the members of a Premium Family plan as the owner is taking care of that, but there is a restriction in place that allows all member accounts to switch between Family plans only once a year.

 

If you are seeing this error message now, it probably means that before receiving the invitation to join the current Family plan, you were a part of another Family plan (not the same one) and therefore your account is facing this restriction now.

 

If you'd like to join the other Family plan with this account, you'll need to wait for the restriction to end. 🙂
