Why does Spotify insist on using my user account for others on a Family account?

My Question or Issue

Every time someone else uses Spotify it insists on playing through my own user account (as part of Family). This means I cannot play music or I end up kicking them off another Google Home device. I've logged people out of their accounts including Google Home yet this extremely frustrating issue persists. I've also got Google to recognise speech for everyone in the house. My account is family one NOT a normal premium one.

This problem means that Family is essentially a very expensive premium account at the moment. I'm very tempted to use another streaming service.

If you're having difficulties linking your Google Home device with your family's Spotify accounts, make sure that your individual Spotify accounts aren't linked with the same Google account. Each one of you will need to set his device up with an own Google account, otherwise they will all sync to the same Spotify account. You can read more about this here.
