family plan doesn’t allow us to listen separately I would like to know why.

family plan doesn’t allow us to listen separately I would like to know why.

I thought the family plan was to allow us to listen separately without changing what someone else was listening to but my family made it known today that it wasn’t working like that and I would like to know why

Hey!

 

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Spotify community.

 

I'm sorry to hear you're not getting the best of the Family plan, you might be sharing the same Spotify account and that's why you can't listen separately. With the Family plan, each member should create their own Spotify account and join the family plan from it. 

 

If you are the plan manager, follow these steps to send invitations:

  1. Go to your account page.
  2. Under Subscription, choose Manage members.
  3. Select the option to invite members.
    Note: To add members to your plan, you need to send an invite.

Invited members need to log in to (or sign up for) their own account to join. If you’re using the same device, the plan manager should log out before anyone opens an invite link.
