what do do in a divorce

what do do in a divorce

Hi! my daughters and I all had a premium account linked to my husbands original spotify, but he has left the family and doesn’t want to share any data stuff. Is there a way for me so sign up for premium and invite my daughters into the new account without all of us loosing our playlists? thanks!

Hi there @wwconniedo,

We're sorry to see this has happened to you but we thank you for sharing it with the Community.

You can create a new Premium Family/Duo Plan and invite all your family members.

(Only one switch of a Family/Duo Plan is possible per year)
The already created playlists are linked to the accounts themselves, so even if one switches the Premium Plan or gets reverted to free, the music does remain.

Let us know if further questions arise.
Cheers!

I am going through this too.  I want to move my account to a duo plan but Spotify says I need to contact my plan admin who is my husband.  Why can’t I just create my own new account now without trying to get him to first remove me?

One option you could consider is setting up a new premium account for yourself and then sharing playlists with your daughters through the app. I'm not sure if this will work for you, but it's worth looking into. Another option is to contact Spotify's customer support and see if they can help you transfer your playlists to a new account. They may also have other solutions that could work for you. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you and your family during this difficult time. Oh, and one more thing - if you're looking for a way to calculate how much you'll have to pay in child support after the divorce, there's an online calculator you can use at https://www.familienrecht-ratgeber.com/de/unterhalt-berechnen-ermitteln/unterhaltsrechner.html. It might be helpful to have that information on hand as you navigate this process.
