Account details changing without being known

I have just renewed my spotify account however i have paid £9.99 instead of £4.99 as i am a student... I dont understand why my account details have changed and now i have ended up paying more than what I should have. Is there anything I can do? because if i cancel it ive wasted £9.99

It sounds like your student subscription has expired. The discount only last for 12 months and then needs to be renewed. To renew visit Spotify.com/student and you will be prompted to verify your student status and then your premium will then change back to the £4.99 a month. You will be charged £4.99 from your next bill date.
