My Question or Issue

Hello, I just got verified by SheerID stating that I'm enrolled in an accredited university, which is the Chinese University of Hong Kong in my case. However, when I go on and try to register as a premium user, I have been charged in British pounds, in the fee for UK students (£4.99). I have used my Spotify account (Spotify Free) in the UK before but the country in my setting has been changed to Hong Kong as I am now in Hong Kong and enrolled in a Hong Kong institution. Hence, I believe I should be charged the fee for Hong Kong students.

I would appreciate any help with the issue above.

Can you confirm if you're using a British card to pay your Premium Student with or not?

Hi there,

 

My student Spotify account has been cancelled, as I missed a credit card payment yesterday. Payment was missed due to my cancelling the card after someone tried to defraud me. New settings on Spotify are now asking me to re-register, but only Hong Kong universities are listed. I am enrolled long-distance at a British university; however, this option is no longer available. Please advise.

Keep in mind that you'll need to re-verify your student status every 12 months in order to continue getting use of the Student discount. 

 

If you were previously able to, but don't see your university at the moment and only see ones in Hong Kong, it's best to reach out to SheerID as they're the ones that verify your student status. You can contact them here.

 

When it comes to your payments I also recommend getting in touch with Customer Support via one of the ways here so that they can check if everything's in order with your account since you mentioned that you cancelled your payment card.
