Gift card is not redeeming. How to cancel student discount period?

My Question or Issue

Gift card doesn’t redeem. I think it’s because I have the student discount period active. Is there any way to cancel the discount period so that my account would return to normal. Appreciate any help on this topic.

Hi @HipHopHobling47 

You are correct, gift cards are not applicable for student premiums. 

To cancel your student premium there are two ways to access it, Spotify.com or Community.Spotify.com. By Spotify.com sign in if you're not already signed in. Then on the top right, you should see your profile/account icon, once you click it you can see a tab labeled account. Click there, and it will take you to your account page/settings. You can then manage your subscription under the Subscription tab. 

If you are currently on the Community.Spotify page, you can also click on the drop arrow next to your username and then account and it will take you to the same destination as previously stated.

Hi, and thanks for replying! I think you misunderstood me. I haven’t the student premium I have just identified as a student on my account but haven’t taken the discount offer yet. Meaning I am still on the free plan but have the student discount offer active (see my pdf below). Can you please remove my student status on my profile so that i could use the gift cards and have the normal single premium plan.

My apologies for misunderstanding. Your account, according to the picture, shows that it’s using Spotify free so you should be able to use the gift card. However, the gift card you have, was it purchased within your country?

Spotify Gift Cards are region locked. Meaning, if a gift card was purchased in Sweden, you aren’t able to redeem it in Finland but only able to in Sweden.
