Help Needed – Unable to Access My Premium Student Account

My Question or Issue

Hello,

I am a Premium Student user, but my account suddenly got logged out, and I can’t log back in because I don’t have a valid email (I totally forgot to update it—my mistake). My student plan is valid until 2026, but I want to delete my account now.

I have a few questions:

  1. My account is only linked to G-Cash. If I empty my G-Cash wallet, will Spotify still charge me?

  2. If Spotify does not receive any payment from my G-Cash account, will my account automatically revert to Spotify Free? Will I stop being charged?

  3. Can I delete my Premium Student account without logging in? I don’t have access to the email I used since it is not valid or registered.

I know this was my mistake for not registering my Spotify account with a valid email, but I really hope someone can help me. I’m scared that Spotify will keep charging me without me knowing. I don’t want to end up with a huge debt or get into any trouble because of this. 😭

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

 

If you have insufficient funds, the next few payment attempts will fail and your subscription will eventually end automatically.

 

As for your other question, note that by closing your account you may also lose your student discount, so in this situation I'd recommend getting in touch with the folks over at Customer Support - they can either help you get back in to your account or transfer the discount to another one.
