How does pausing the Spotify Student subscription affect the max. 4 years of discount?

My Question or Issue

Hello! I have been using the Spotify Student subscription for about a year now and I recently found out about about the fact that this discount can be used for up to 4 years. My question is if I pause my Student Subscription after one year for let's say 2 years, can I then after these 2 years start the Student Subscription again where I left off? (i.e. will I still have 3 years left of the student discount or only 1 year?).

Thanks for reaching out and thanks for your question.

In short - yes, if you cancel your subscription after the first year, you'll still be eligible for the remaining 3 even if you activate them at a later time. Note however that each discount is valid for a whole year, so if you cancel 8 months after activating it, you'll be forfeiting the remaining 4.
