Student Subcription and Normal Subcription Trouble

Hello Everyone, In April I verified myself as a student using SheerID and I got an email to use a student discount. Then later I realised I can use the first-month-free offer and then continue with my student discount. Therefore, as per plan. 25 April 209 to 25 May 2019 is period of first-month free subscription( Which is Fine.) Then, on 25th May 2019, I received no notification for renewal of subscription and 9.99 Euros gets deducted from my PayPal (Problem 1) On the same day (May 25th) I decide to use a student discount mail I had, and then again I only get subscription till April of 2020. (Problem 2) Behaviour I was expecting from the flow of service In Problem 1 I would receive some notification before deducting money from PayPal in the first place. In Problem 2 The date when I am subscribing the student discount should be considered as a start day. Instead, it is treating verification day as the start of the discount which I think is not fair. A similar thing has been happening to me for 6 months now but I can't re-verify being a student because it says I have the discount until November of this year. I have been being charged the full amount even though i have been verified and my account says so. I only just found this help site even though I've been trying to find an email or phone number to call for sometime now, hopefully someone can help us get our money back.

Regarding the first issue that you mention, keep in mind that when you sign up for a trial, the Premium subscription will automatically continue at the regular rate after the trial period expires. We give you a heads up about this when you start the trial.

You can cancel anytime during the trial if you don’t want to be charged once your trial period ends. If you'd like a refund, we'd suggest taking a look at our refund policy for more info, including how to reach out to us.

On another note, the student discount lasts for 12 months at a time. This would explain why the discount will be active on your account from April 2019 to April of 2020. 

No worries though, you can still renew it a maximum of 3 times as long as you're eligible 🙂

It sounds like you're experiencing a slightly different issue than the one described by @Apurva.

Just to confirm, have you applied the student discount on your Spotify account by heading here? Once you've done so, the discounted rate should automatically begin on your next billing date.
