Student credentials are associated with another spotify account

Please help! I have signed up for the student discount with Hulu and Spotify twice and have been charged twice, but everytime the "tell us about yourself page" pops up to confirm I am a student it says its been used on another spotify account. I do not have another spotify account this is my first time opening one with a subscription so I am confused.

Sometimes when trying to get the student discount, Spotify will try to peauthorize the payment. However, since the discount is not being verified due to this error, the money will go back to your account automatically.

To make sure you don't have other Spotify accounts, let's try following this troubleshooting. Also, make sure a family member or friend hasn't used your information to set up the discount on their accounts.
