Switching from premium to student.

I am having a small issue, I have been paying the $9.99 since April. I have been trying to get the student discount since April, when I realize I had paid the full price for spotify premium. Everytime I have tried to switch to the student discount, it keeps telling me that I have not confirm being a student. For my spotify account I am using my school email address. However, I have NEVER gotten the email about confirming being a student. I feel that I will lose out on the money that I have spent so far on spotify premium. I think this is not fair because I have followed every step possible and I am not getting what I had signed up for.
