Disappointingly, my #5 most played song included a song that I have never actively sought.

It is by an artist I do listen to, and I like the song, but it confirms my frustrations with the way the system works. This song is almost the first song played after an individually selected song is played out.

What I feel has changed is that the algorithm has moved in its dynamic from selecting random songs within the genre, to only those that I have played, or worse still, Spotify has played for me.

Is there a fix to open up my listening experience?
