Do one really need friends?

I am in my 30's and have no friends. I am hermit, living in a tiny town with no one. Alone time is your best time to be productive. There is always music, playlists on Spotify, to listen to. I honestly believe people can survive without friends. Hermit life was my best decision. You spend so little money as no one is asking you for a drink or shopping mall. Find yourself. Stop wasting money on societal norms and just be.
