I made a Spotify Recommendations (web) app

Explore Spotify is a web app giving you 100 recommended tracks based on either your Top Artists & Tracks, or artists and tracks of your choosing. You can listen to a preview of the tracks listed, or create an unlisted playlist out of them.

Try Explore Spotify

GitHub repo

This was my first experience with React, so there might be a few bugs, but nothing to negatively affect what it's supposed to do. I'd appreciate any input.

Hi,

Great work! Seems to work pretty well. I have couple of suggestions for improvements. It is cool that you can do playlist of those 100 recommendations, but it would also be cool to just be able to go to listen a certain song to spotify by just clicking it. This other complaint is a minor problem, but now if you first press preview on a song and then press preview on another song the previous one is still playing on the background. I know there is that pause button, but it would be more handy if it would also stop when you choose next preview. Anyway all in all great work.

Hi, I'm backing up that suggestion about stopping previously played preview after user clicks on other one.

Also it seems like the option to get tracks based on me picking up to 5 artists/songs only lets me choose one artist/song unless they are of similar name? There are no visual cues. What's the behaviour like if you type in something else? Are previously selected artist/song discarded? Or maybe in the final screen in this case showin what was the recommendation based on.

Good luck with further develpment, seems like a cool project 🙂

This is awesome 👍

How long did it take to make, and what were the biggest challenges? Were you already well versed in webstack and react?

Hoping to find/make something similar, but allowing selections from metadata (song energy and BPM, and genre etc)

Good work! #inspired 😎
