Design & Branding Guidelines question for an app

Design & Branding Guidelines question for an app

Hello! I’m using track and playlist artworks in my app and have a question about branding requirements.

If I retrieve these artworks from track and playlist links, do I need to apply rounded corners as specified in the branding and design guidelines?

According to the branding guidelines, only album and podcast artworks need to have rounded corners. However, what about playlist and track artworks? I believe they should remain unchanged and without rounded corners.

Hi @Dev_New1

Thank you for posting in the Spotify Community, and Welcome!

You're correct—according to Spotify's Design & Branding Guidelines, the requirement to apply rounded corners specifically applies to album and podcast artwork. The guidelines do not explicitly mention rounding corners for track and playlist artwork, so they should remain unchanged.

However, all artwork and metadata must be used as provided by Spotify, without any modifications such as animation, overlays, or distortion. If you're unsure, it's always best to refer to the Design & Branding Guidelines for clarity. Also there's an email address at the bottom of that page to contact the Spotify brand approval team for assistance.

I hope this help. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
