Location of settings files in Windows?

I have the Microsoft Store installation of Spotify for Windows installed.

I would like to know the location of the settings files. When I search for information I see a lot of references to `%APPDATA%\Spotify` but I do not have that on my system. I guess that was the location for the earlier version of the client.

Where are the Windows settings files now? Thanks.

For the standard Spotify for Windows app (the one you download directly from Spotify), %APPDATA%\Spotify is still the file location for profile and preferences settings. Nothing's changed there.

Microsoft Store apps are packaged and installed in a specific way, and among other effects their user data all gets stored in a subdirectory of %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages. In Spotify's case, the profile and preferences files are located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\SpotifyAB.SpotifyMusic_zpdnekdrzrea0\LocalState\Spotify.

Inside the Spotify folder there's a general "prefs" file that handles startup, and then inside Users there's one folder per profile, each with their own "prefs" file.
