Personal music analytics tool

Personal music analytics tool

Hi,

We’re working on a lightweight personal music analytics tool that lets Spotify users visualize their own listening behavior in a creative and engaging way. Here’s a quick summary of how it works:

– A user connects their Spotify account via OAuth.

– We fetch their top tracks and artists, as well as audio features (acousticness, energy, valence, etc.).

– Based on these values, we generate a personalized “audio identity card” — a shareable visual summary of their recent music taste (e.g., genre breakdown, mood profile, listening time).

– This card is strictly for personal use and optional sharing — we don’t use the data for advertising, targeting, recommendation, or monetization.

– There is no ranking, matchmaking, or leaderboard that compares users with each other.

We do not expose any Spotify content or derived statistics publicly.

We just want to confirm:

Does this use case comply with Spotify’s Developer Policy, especially in regard to Section III, part 13 (re: derived metrics and profiling)?

We’d be happy to adjust our implementation based on your feedback.

Thanks in advance!
