Spotify Developer Policy Question: App as Board Game Companion

Our Project
We're developing a music-themed board game that includes printed cards with artist illustrations and barcodes. We've created a companion app that scans these barcodes and plays corresponding songs on Spotify.

Not a Game App
Our app is not a standalone game but strictly a companion to our physical product:

Contains no gameplay mechanics
Simply connects physical cards to Spotify tracks
Requires the physical board game to function
Users must have Spotify Premium accounts
Policy Question
We noticed Spotify's Developer Policy states: "Do not create a game, including trivia quizzes."

Since our app:

Has no built-in game mechanics
Is only a music player for our physical board game
Cannot be used independently
Doesn't collect user information
Would this be permitted under Spotify's developer policy? We need Spotify SDK access for basic playback controls (play, pause, skip).

Has anyone encountered similar situations or received clarification on this policy point? Any insights from the community or Spotify representatives would be greatly appreciated.
