What apps are encouraged?

What apps are encouraged?

I have developed a Spotify application to help users rediscover old songs they used to love but no longer listen to. I am currently using the Web API and manual data collection to do this as the process requires data from some 'Made for You' playlists which are not accessible via the API. I submitted an Extension Request early in the development process but now have a working demo and more details that weren't included in the initial application. I am wondering if Spotify still encourages the development of apps like this as the recent API changes make this difficult and I would love to know if I am wasting my time here. Thank you very much.

Hi @jakelgodfrey1

Currently, I'm using a webapp to discover old favourites.

It uses the Get User's Top Items endpoint, and removes short_term and medium_term from long_term. This way, only tracks the user have listened to in the past year, but not in the past 6 months and 4 weeks.

Yep I have a similar setup working but this doesn't work for listening activity more than a year old.

There is also a personalized playlist called Repeat Rewind - Your past favorites. You can access this when you click Browse/Search -> Made For You -> Uniquely yours.

Because this is already an existing Spotify feature, you prohibited to make something similar according to the Developer Terms/Policy.
