Best way to gift an account and pay for it going forward?

My Question or Issue

I want to gift a non-technical music lover a Spotify Premium account, and continue paying for the subscription fees going forward.  Assume they aren't very technical and even providing them with a stack of pre-paid gift cards would be a challenge.  My goal is to make the process as seamless as possible for the recipient.  Note that I'm not a subscriber myself so don't know too much about the various options - my account was just created recently to post this question.

My thoughts are to create a new account, and either input my credit card (I can trust the recipient) or just buy hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards and buffer the account with credits assuming that's allowed.  Then I would hand the credentials off to the recipient to use going forward.

They can certainly create a Spotify account and subscribe to Premium. If they're using your payment details, they would have to subscribe on their end - and they can do so here. Once they get on that page, they'll continue through the steps to get Premium (so essentially, it's best if the other person is there with you physically).

The other option you have is through Gift Cards. You can purchase how many gift cards you want, but they have to be redeemed here (make sure that they're logging in with their account for the gift card to be redeemed on their account). You can purchase gift cards online at select retailers, in stores (such as technology/electronic retailers, video game stores, or certain supermarkets). If your country supports PayPal, you can also purchase Spotify Gift cards from them here. More information about gift cards can be found here.

If the person you're paying Premium for lives at the same physical address as you, you can also get started with Premium Family and invite them to the plan. This is great because you only pay one price for the plan (and the other members won't have to worry about payments), as well as many other features.

hello. I want to gift my sons premium for xmas. I was thinking of doing the duo but am worried I will be automatically one of the two subscriptions....I don't want to be. Can I sign up and pay but allot the membership to my two guys?
