Charge Preimum year subscription & monthly subscription.. why & help!

I signed up for the offer of $119.00 yearly subscription with Spotify Premium on Dec 15/12:17, on the 18/12/17 I was charged my (precious) monthly account subscription of $11.99. Can someone tell me why this would happen? I feel annoyed that I assumed they would cancel my monthly subscription, but obviously they don’t. I have canceled my paypal authorization, is there anything else I should do to avoid further charges?
