Does Cancelling Premium stop the benefits immediately?

Solved!

Does Cancelling Premium stop the benefits immediately?

Hi guys, this is my first time using the community. I couldn't find a answer on Spotify help page so I thought I try here.

I am under Spotify premium family, I wish to cancel as I realise I don't listen to the music much and don't want to pay the $$ and I can't remember when they would charge me. I went to click the cancel then they said that cancelling on this date will terminate all premium benefits.

I was confused as my daughter had a premium account last time (normal) and if she cancelled, she would still enjoy the benefits till the charging date.

So which is which? Do I still enjoy the benefits till charging date or it really does terminate the second once I click cancel? If it terminates immediately, how can I find out when my billing date is?

Thanks everyone!! Xoxo

Hey @FulfillingSng, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

When you cancel your Premium Family subscription, you’ll still have access to your Premium features until the next billing date. There is more information on canceling a subscription in this support article.

To confirm that this is the case, can you attach a screenshot of where you see it saying once you cancel your Premium your features are terminated? Make sure to hide sensitive information when posting to the Community.

Also, you’re able to manage your Spotify account and check your billing date, receipts, etc here.

Hey @FulfillingSng

Thanks for getting back to me.

Based on the screenshot, you’ll lose access to Premium on 9/7/2020. I am not sure what market you’re in, but if today is 9/7/2020 in your area then you’ll lose access to Premium on that date. There is more information on canceling a subscription using the link I provided in my last reply.

Hope this clears things up. Let me know if you have further questions!

Hi there:)

I see. Yes, thats useful. It's just that my kids want to use premium to the max.... So I am looking to cancel on the date that Spotify will charge me.

But I don't want to cancel late and they charge me, so I want to find out the date that Spotify will charge.

How do I go about finding the date that Spotify will charge me? Thanks so much!

Hey @FulfillingSng,

I understand. You can find your next billing date here, under Your Plan. I would recommend canceling the subscription one day before the billing date— if you want to be sure you won’t be charged.
