Duo plan question

Duo plan question

My daughter has a Spotify premium account.  I would like to start a premium duo account and be the manager and invite her to join the second spot.  Will we need to delete her current account and then have her join?  Is there a way to do this so she can keep all of her playlists and settings?

Thanks!

Hi @pgold95,

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

No worries, Spotify users can keep their same account, with all of their playlists, saved music, and settings, no matter which plan they switch to or from; so your daughter won’t need to delete her Spotify account to join your new Premium Duo plan, and she’ll be able to keep all of her playlists and settings upon joining it.

The billing also switches automatically for Spotify users who already have a Premium Individual subscription and then join Premium Duo, so your daughter won’t be charged for her account any further upon joining your new Premium Duo plan. Instead, all payments will be made by you, as the Premium Duo plan manager.

You can sign up for Premium Duo here, and then invite your daughter to the plan by following these steps

Note that to accept the invite to Premium Duo, the other member must live at the same address as the plan manager. Also note that members can only switch between different Premium Duo or Premium Family plans once in 12 months.

Feel free to also read more about switching between different subscription plans on Spotify in this support article, as well as to read more about how Premium Duo works in this FAQ article
