Duo problem

Duo problem

Hi Spotify

My husband and I have a duo subscription, however we are not able to listen to music at the same time. When someone is listening and the other one wants to listen to music, the other persons music stops. What do we do?

Hey @113246174,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. We moved your post from Chats to the help boards as its content fits better here.

The Premium Duo plan is one of the group subscriptions where each user has its own account, but they're both Premium. When you're listening to a song and it stops because the other user plays a track, that means you’re’re both using the same email and password to log in.

In that case, one of the users needs to log out and join the plan with their own account. Then, the owner needs to invite the other user to join the Premium plan following the steps mentioned in this article (it also has a video). Keep in mind that it’s necessary that the other user has a free account created. If you haven't, you can create one here.

Once the member joins the plan, you'll be both on the same Premium Duo plan and the playback will not interfere with each other’s music.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
