Premium and Change of country

Premium and Change of country

Hey! I hope you are safe and doing well. I had a quick question regarding the change in location. I am from India but will soon be travelling to the US for my further studies. Will my premium One-year plan continue uninterrupted? Secondly, will I be provided access to region locked content? Lastly, how will Premium Duo or Family be affected with my location change considering I am the billing member.

Hey @DORG_Joe, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

If you have already paid your plan in full for the year, it won't get canceled so you should be good to go when it comes to your plan continuation. 

 

Since the country on your account will be in India (unless you change your country settings to the US following these steps), content that isn't available in India but available in the US will not show up on your Spotify if your account's country settings are still set to India.

 

Can you let me know what plan you're on exactly, and also let me know if the members that are on the plan will be moving to the US with you, or will they stay there?

Yeah so my Duo plan just got over. I and my brother were covered in it.
However, we are now looking to buy Premium but as I am moving to the US and
he is not, I was trying to understand which plan would suit us best.

Additionally, I also saw the student offer as well, can you explain me
more about it?

Ah okay, gotcha! Yep, the Individual Premium plan would be best if you're going to be the only one using Spotify. 

 

And yes I'll be happy to explain more about the student discount. If you're over the age of 18 and go to university or college in the US, then you are eligible to start the Premium Student subscription, where you get discounted Premium for up to 4 years - and comes with SHOWTIME and Hulu at no extra cost. Hey Billy,
Wow, the student plan is quite loaded, I must say. And yes I think I am
eligible. But is there a possibility that I take Duo with my brother, can
it work considering I'll be out of nation?

Secondly, I tried to look into student subscription, sadly I wasn't able to
find the US in the drop down menu. Is this related to my profile country or
something else?

If your brother won’t be residing with you in the US, then the Premium Duo plan won’t work for the both of you. If he will be in the US, then you might just need to reverify your address before you can continue using the plan. 

 

Are you in the US yet, and have a valid US payment method? If not, that may be why you’re not able to use the student plan yet. You can manage your country settings here.
