On my phone I have the premium plan, but I downloaded and logged into the desktop app, but it is telling my plan is the Free one, not premium.
I'm not paying another £13.99 a month for this
Hey @Becca_00,
Thanks for reaching out.
It sounds like you've logged into a different account in the desktop app. 🙂
I recommend logging out there and then logging into the account you're using in the mobile app.
If you don't know your username, you can head into the Spotify mobile app settings, then click on Account. It should show your username there.
Let me know how it goes!

Hey, i have this problem noww. I already payed for my spotify premium yesterdays week it was fine the premium working well on my phone and desktop but when I repurchased the premium, my desktop cannot access it. I already tried to log out and i even bought another premium subscription. But it’s still not working soo i hope there’s a solution for this…
Hey @shandya,
Thanks for getting in touch about this and sorry for the delayed reply.
Just to confirm, is the subscription working well on your phone? If so, as @Maxim mentioned previously, it's possible that you're logged in to a different account on your PC. You can check your login details on your phone by tapping on your profile picture on the upper left corner of the app > Settings and privacy and there, under Account you'll be able to see it. Once you confirmed that, make sure to log out from the app on your PC and log back in using those details. If you don't remember your password, you can reset it here.
Let us know how it goes.

My Question or Issue
I bought spotify premium mini, but I am unable to play songs in offline mode in my desktop app.
Hi there @Nibonda,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
You can download up to 30 songs on your mobile device only when using Premium Mini. You should be able to see your downloads in the mobile app, but let us know if you don't and we can assist you further.
We hope this clears things up.
Take care

My Question or Issue
Why am I still getting advertisements even though I already bought the individual premium a day ago? I already followed and tried all solutions I searched online, yet I still get advertisements while listening to music, I will request a refund if this issue can't be solved.
I already logged out of other devices and only logged in my laptop, restarted my laptop, deleted my browser's caches, logged out and logged in again, yet I still get ads, this is so frustrating, I'm really considering NOT to use spotify ever again after this.
Hey there @Baltzy7,
Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
Just to confirm, is this only happening on your PC or on other devices as well? It'd be useful if you could check on another device so we can determine if this is device-related.
Additionally, we'd like to know if this happens with any content or with only specific playlists.
If logging out and logging back in to your account on your PC didn't help, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Hello, I tried installing in my mobile phone and it works fine and it does not have the "explore premium" option like in my pc app, I will try to attempt to run a clean reinstall since logging in and out multiple times did not help at all.
I did a clean reinstall, I will let you know if the problem persists.
I did a clean reinstall, the problem is still there, I'm still getting ads on my pc, if after one more attempt to fix this fails, I am going to request a full refund on my subscription because frankly, I am very dissatisfied and frustrated from this problem, I will wait for another way to fix the problem, and if it fails, I am going with the refund.
Hey @Baltzy7,
Thanks for the update!
If you're seeing "Explore Premium" in the desktop app then you're most likely logging in to a free account instead. Try logging out and back in with the username of your Premium account instead of the email address, that should do the trick. You'll find it on your account page.
If you need to reset your password, just follow the steps in this article.

Facing same issue when trying to play in Alexa echo dot. My premium membership is working fine on mobile but when I cast on echo dot the premium version is not working.
Tried reinstalling both Alexa and Spotify app , clearing cache of both apps, restarting my mobile and updating password. Can you please help?
Hey @ruchidaigavane,
Thank you for joining the conversation.
When the app works fine on the mobile app, but not when using other devices, it's possible that this could be related to the type of subscription you're using. Keep in mind that if you have a Premium mini subscription, it's expected behavior as it only works on mobile devices and small tablets (<7 inches) directly.
In case you have a different type of subscription, would you mind confirming if you've already followed the process mentioned previously by @Yordan? It's important to avoid using any auto-login or saved credentials on your device to make sure you're logging into the correct account.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
I am having the same problem. I can confirm I have used EXACTLY the same username and password on both my laptop and my phone. The credentials work for my phone but not my laptop. Extremely frustrating. Help.
