Spotify Gift Card

If I redeem a Spotify premium Gift Card and I have a free trial active, would it add more months or would it do something else? I’m very confused

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community, and welcome!

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to apply a gift card while on a free trial (or while on other discounted plans such as Premium Student, Premium Family, or Premium Duo).

You can only apply a gift card when you’re currently subscribed to Premium Individual (in which case the gift card will add the respective number of months to your Premium time), or when you’re on the free plan (in which case the gift card will upgrade your subscription to Premium Individual and add the respective number of months of Premium time).
