Unlimited Subscription Advert Change?

Solved!

Unlimited Subscription Advert Change?

Hi Spotify community,

I've been signed up with a Spotify Unlimited subscription for some years, but this week I've suddenly begun getting adverts. This happens whenever I play audio to a device other than desktop (Alexa, Android App).

Has there been a change in the features given for the Unlimited vs Premium subscription? I can see the wording under plans indicates this maybe the case, but did Spotify communicate this change anywhere? When did it come into effect?

Thanks!

Thanks Maxim. Spotify has now emailed to say that Unlimited is being closed (one week after actually removing features which is disappointing from a customer service point of view).

I'm aware Spotify has wanted to sunset Unlimited since creating Premium, so this change has been coming.

Hi,

We’re reaching out to let you know we’re closing the type of plan you’re currently on - Spotify Unlimited.

Your account won’t change until your next expected billing date, after which your plan will change to our free, ad-supported service. You can see when this will happen for you under Your plan in your Spotify account overview .

We’ll no longer offer Spotify Unlimited, but you can still subscribe to a Premium plan. Check out spotify.com/premium for info on all our plans.

Hey @roberto575 ,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community.

Spotify is often testing and launching improvements and new features, so things might look different on your account. If this isn't a temporary situation, you'll receive further related info from Spotify soon.

In the meantime, you can double-check if you're logged in to the same account on all devices 🙂 And in case you'd like to subscribe to Premium, you can do so here.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'd like to add to this. Just found out I've lost my Unlimited privileges, but still got charged yesterday for what should be a free account. I'm pretty disappointed with Spotify right now
