why can't i use on the tv & on my phone without one shutting the other off?

why can't i use on the tv & on my phone without one shutting the other off?

I'm in my studio trying to work. My 8 year old is at home trying to do her chores. When she turns on her playlist on my account on our Roku TV, it stops the music I am playing on my phone and switches to her control. I also don't get to hear music. I unlinked the device, we both restarted, and the same thing happened. This is either an attempt to get more control of one user per account done in bad taste, or a complete glitch.

I have a student account, am in my 40's, and I am a parent. The idea that I can only have my account running in one instance globally is ridiculous. You're trying to end password sharing, and I get it, but I'm not buying my kid an account on the off chance she wants to do chores when I'm working.

Unfortunately, you can only play on one device at a time, per account.
