A song that I never listen to show up in my "On Repeat" playlist

A song that I never listen to show up in my "On Repeat" playlist

Few days ago, I found that 2 songs (You're a Believer & You're a Believer - Instrumental Version)  I've never listened to appeared in my "On Repeat" playlist. This is really strange and I am sure that I never play these 2 songs under any circumstance. I was wondering if anyone access to my account and I changed my password anyway. But I still want to remove these 2 songs in my "On Repeat" playlist.

How can I fix this problem?

Hi there @mkiiiivy,

Thank you for reaching out. It's possible that the original tracks were reuploaded and replaced by the ones that are currently in the playlist. Do you recognize the artist? Outside of this, have you noticed any other odd or unusual behaviour on your account? Securing your account is always a good idea, so check out this article for more info just in case.

I don't recognize the artist. I have not idea who they are:( I've checked the "On Repeat" playlist and the songs are still there.

But apart from this, I believe that there are no other odd or unusual behavior on my account.

Thank you very much for your reply anyway.

Hi there @mkiiiivy,

Thanks for the post.

What has most likely happened is that the algorithm has added this song to your On Repeat by mistake, which shouldn't normally happen, but those algorithms are automated and mistakes can occur. Sometimes you might get a recommendation for a song with the same title as another one, if their metadata gets messed up somehow.

This should go away as your playlist updates over time.

Hope this info clears things up.

Same thing happened to me, a single song i'd never heard of appears to be one of the songs i've played the most lately. I checked and i'm 100% sure no one has access to my account. This has obviously messed up my recommendations and it's getting very frustrating. It's even more frustrating to see that users have been requesting Spotify some option to delete songs from the listening history for a long time already. If this is an algorithm's problem, then they should take care of it. I'm paying for this service.

Yes totally agree! I’ve had this happening too.

I’ve changed password, logged out of all devices too.

I’ve had a few come up on my on repeat by the same artist who I have never heard from before. I’ve checked my recently listened as well and the tracks don’t appear there so must be a problem with the metadata. I’ve told the playlist to hide those songs but it’s quiet annoying!

This has been happening to me as well. I've had songs on my Repeat playlist that I've heard one or maybe twice but shouldn't be there. Some songs I have never heard at all  or I don't ever recognize the artists. My most played song is a song I never even head of. I am sure nobody else has access to my account. It's starting to get annoying.

In case anyone comes here for answers even though its a bit late-
My on repeat updated to include 1 song I've never heard before, plus 6 I've listened to but not within the last year- you can hide them from showing up/playing on the playlist using the three dots next to the song on mobile, and wait for the playlist to update for them to go away

My Question or Issue

Hello, since today the Spotify Playlist 'on repeat' shows different songs from one album, that i dont know, i doesnt listened to it. I looked in the listening history to check, but theres also not one of the mysterious songs listet. Why is happening that? Where come the information from, that i listend to the songs a big time? Please help and fix this bug, its very awful to listen to this Playlist. Thanks a lot, Novak.

Same thing in my playlist. I'm angry abou it because, ot startet with one album that shows completely in 'on repeat'. In a time, there shows now 3 different albums that I never listened to. I checked my listening history and they're don't listed. The awful thing of this is, that my realy favorite songs that I listened many times are not longer there. I checked the playlist 'Lieblingssongs' (I'm from germany) and there are my favorite songs. So the original songs still exist and aren't reyploaded by artists.

So where is the problem, what can I do?

Thanks

PS: I apologize for my texting skills, English is not my best language.

This one song keeps appearing randomly in my “On Repeat” playlist and I’ve never listened to it in my life

Update: Now my 'On Repeat' Playlist is completly full of random songs coming from 5 diferent albums, that I never listened to it. I cant understand what is happening here. I checked my account again but there are not other weired things. In my 'recently playd' list are not the songs listed, that appears in 'On Repeat'. Maybe someone can help? I dont want to delete the weired somgs every time.

This has been happening more frequently on my repeat usually two songs. Never heard them or never heard the artist. The songs are stuff I would never listen to which is weird since I listen to a lot of random stuff 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😂 with those parameters I'm able to just hide the song. Would be better if we could just remove it though.

My On Repeat is now some tracks that are correct, I have been listening to them a lot lately, and most of it is stuff I don't like, have hardly listened to, and even songs/artists I have literally never heard of. This isn't great

The same thing happened to me a few days ago, it is really frustrating.

I'm to the point where if I have no customer service who can help me remove songs that I HATE and would NEVER listen to from my PAID subscription service in my On Repeat playlist, I'm ready to ditch spotify. It's f*cking bullsh*t that a service I pay for doesn't let me block or remove artists from a playlist that I use everyday. No customer service to help any of us, then I come here to have a community of people dealing with the same issues and no one from spotify acknowledging or helping. Completely disgusting business practices and I'm surely going to be taking my money elsewhere and you all should too. Do better spotify, you don't even pay your artists!!!

Tried to do that, but they still keep playing!!! I'm over it!

Same here, some Spanish (that I never listen to) songs appears in my no repeat play list, wth Spotify, I paid for It and they keep putting Latin songs in the middle of a heavy metal play list
