My Question or Issue

It seems the system is somehow stuck at "Playlist Nr. 10.080" as it just keeps on creating the same one all over again, no matter if I put songs into it or not.

The created playlist (or folder, same behaviour) just instantly disappears from the side bar. Looks like a glitch. Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi @1121729064, thanks for writing.

I guess you've reached the playlists' limit, which is currently around 10.000.

Maybe you could delete some of them to make room to the new ones..?

Hi Bittencourt,

Thanks for your reply! Are you certain about the playlist limit?

And is there any chance to increase this limit? I use Spotify for 10 years now and plan on using it for another 10 yrs, but playlists are extremely important for me.

Hey @1121729064,

Actually this 10,000 limit is for the total items in Your Library. This includes playlists/ liked songs/ albums/ followed artists etc.

When Your Library reaches those numbers around the 10,000 mark, the app can start behaving in a non expected way. My suggestion is that you try to merge some of your playlists to give space to new ones.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey @bittencourt,

thanks for your answer.

I tried to count approx. my playlists and I get about 9.000 lists. Probably add some hundred folders and subtracting the few hundred playlist I as emergency measure could absolutely do without I now would create playlist nr. 9.458.

Since the grand mass of my playlists are some sort of library of albums per year, so that I can check on any year and find the best albums, plus a very deep look on release day basis, where I follow 1982 and 1992 with a folder for each month and a playlist for each release day, the count will be full with 1983 and 1993 coming up... it's a nerd thing, I know.

I might find some lists to delete. But it would be awesome not to and with extra pay get more space. I was thinking about signing up for the Duo account and have 2 accounts with 10.000 lists. But I don't know what the policy of spotify is on one person having a Duo account...

I probably will need to create a second account.

As I also have 8.177 liked songs in my library, I think these might not weigh in on the count.

Thanks for your help.

Hey @1121729064, that's a great idea to create a second account and getting the Duo plan. Don't worry about any

Spotify policy regarding this. It's completely ok for one person to create as many accounts as they want.
