My Question or Issue

Hi, I was wondering whether it is possible to change the standard order of my playlists for everyone. I have soms theme-related playlists and I want people to see these playlists in a certain order when they open it (ofcourse they can later then sort it to 'last added' or any other that they would want). Some of these playlists I ordered myself (e.g. have a playlist with places of the wordl, and put places closes to each other together), but changing the order of a playlist by hand is a lot of work. Some playlists I would just want alphabetically (or almost alphabetically, like a playlist with numbers in it). However it does not seem possible to change the order to alphabetical and then make some changes (the standard order just stays the personal one which is the last added order). Is it possible to change your playlist order to alphabetical not only for your device but for all devices? It would be way less work sorting my playlists if this would be possible, then I wouldn't have to do it al manually. Thanks

Hi @Inge5!

Currently it's possible to move songs around within a playlist only when sorting in Custom order. This is the default sorting option, so when someone opens your playlist for the first time, they'll see the songs in the custom order you've set.

The desktop app is perfect for making adjustments to your playlists, so feel free to try out this workaround:

  1. Open your playlist and set the sorting order to your preferred one (for example, set it to Title, so that all tracks, including those that start with numbers, are sorted alphabetically).
  2. Press Ctrl + A (Cmd + A if you're on mac) to select all songs inside the playlist, then press Ctrl + X (Cmd + X) to cut them.
  3. Now paste them inside the playlist again with Ctrl + V (Cmd + V). This will make it so that the Custom order matches the Title order.

Note that if you continue to update the tracks inside the playlist, you'll need to manually edit it and place the new tracks in their relevant positions every time you make adjustments, so that the Custom order is also updated.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!
