My Question or Issue

Since the first four songs on a playlist become the playlist cover, I have a habit of ordering songs so that the cover that's generated fits with how I want it to look. However, when I view the playlists through my library or the folder they're kept in, the cover shown differs from how it looks when I click into the playlist. Why does this happen and how can it be fixed? This error also pops up when I look at the playlists added to my profile--a song in the first four is completely skipped and so there's a different cover, but it looks exactly how I wanted it when I click into the playlist.

Hi there @akashderash,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

We are aware that this is happening with playlists sometimes. It happens because the app saves a set of images once the playlist is created and that set is used for the thumbnail in folders. There is no concrete fix for this, as the image is auto-generated, and it doesn't always update in order to save data.

You can try moving the songs in the playlist around in order to get a new image generated.

We've passed your feedback about this on to the tech teams at Spotify, but for the moment we don't have any official information if this functionality will be changed in the near future.

Cheers.
