Duo Mix just not very good

Duo Mix just not very good

Use it with my girlfriend and it's just a bit rubbish.

1. Doesn't update very well, it'll say it updates every few days but often songs are stuck there for weeks/months

2. It doesn't seem to pick stuff we frequently listen to.

Examples, a Disney song we had on for a laugh last Autumn, once or twice, and has never left the playlist even though neither of us have had it on or anything similar since. Another song by an artist that neither of us have had on since maybe last Summer, still showing. However, I've had on a ton of one or two particular artists and zero of their tracks ever appear. Same for stuff my girlfriend listens too.

3. The fact you can't change the mood on the desktop version just seems like a stupid omission.

4. Why can't we take things off the playlist we don't want to listen to (like in the Release Radar one) to help train it a bit better?

Am I doing something wrong? The other Spotify generated playlists I use seem to be better quality in general (although Discover Weekly does get stuck in a rut sometimes).

Hey @brucemilne,

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here.

You can help the algorithm by expanding your library with new liked songs and albums or liking additional artists. That would speed up the process of getting a Duo Mix fitted more to your tastes.

As for the option to remove songs from the Mix, it seems that other Spotify users also mentioned they'd like to see in this feature removed and posted this idea. You can add your support there by up-voting the idea. We'll inform on any developments there, if there are any. So make sure to subscribe, if you haven’t already.

You can also submit one yourself about having the option to change the mood on desktop. That would allow us to better track its popularity and monitor user opinions.

Hope this is helpful but don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions!
