Follow vs Add to Library

Follow vs Add to Library

I think the distinction between following an artist and adding something to your library is unclear and infuriating. For example, if I try to browse my library by artist, I can only see artists I have followed, even though I have albums in my library from artists I have not followed and have no interest in "following". So is there no way to view content exclusively in your library based on artist? Is following an artist adding them to your library? Does only adding an album mean that that album's artist is not in your library? Moreover, If I do have a followed artist with only a single album in my library, and I browse to that artist through the "Your Library" menu, I cannot distinguish between the content that is or is not in my library, which makes the entire "Library" nomenclature entirely misleading and redundant. This is an enormous deal-breaker for me, as a recent migrant from Google Play Music (and an apostate of Youtube Music based on a similar issue), which made this kind of navigation seamless. I'm not certain exactly which platforms this applies to, but I know it at least applies to the Web Player and Desktop.

Either verbiage with greater clarity (perhaps changing "Artists" under "My Library" to "Followed Artists"), or the addition of a feature to address these shortcomings (for example, a "Followed Artists" and an "Artists In Your Library" section for browsing) would, I think, be an acceptable solution.
