How to Save Local File as a Podcast

How to Save Local File as a Podcast

Hi there,

I have a downloaded a number of podcasts from the internet in MP3 format, which I have now added to my Spotify as local files.

My one remaining issue is that Spotify registers these local MP3 files as songs, as opposed to podcasts.

This means that I cannot skip forwards or backwards by 15 seconds like you can with a normal podcast - you can only skip to the next or previous track.

These pods are approx 60 mins long, so if I get distracted and miss 30 seconds, it is quite difficult to drag the cursor back to the moment I last heard.

Is there any way I can change the format of the MP3 file so that Spotify recognises it as a podcast? Or a way to edit the skipping options to show '←15' or '15→' instead of the usual next/previous buttons?

Appeciate this is quite a niche issue, but any help would be great.

Thanks.

Hi there @Jamie_clarke20,

thanks for posting !

Unforunately there is no option of aPodcastdding any external files to the Podcast section of your app.

In order to have the full idea of how the "Local Files' feature works, please make sure to check out this page.

Hope this helps 🙂
