How to actually report a bug, or contact Spotify??

How to actually report a bug, or contact Spotify??

Hi everyone,

Seems a few users have reported bots adding music to their collaborative playlists. This issue - along with the issue that you can't have control over your collaborative playlists so you can select who can add to them - was flagged a few years ago by users, but closed from Spotify due to 'not enough kudos' (votes). I'm not able to find where to log this as an issue, only found the community form where to put through 'an idea'. Seems to me that ideas & features suggested aren't actually coming to life, so what about bug issues?? Not hearing back from anyone at Spotify, anyone else got ideas how to get this seen to??

Hey @eursula,

Thanks for posting here.

In case you see unwanted changes on collaborative playlists, you can give the steps @MafeG mentioned here a go to see if anything changes.

Regarding ideas with the status Closed - Not Enough Votes-they are still getting monitored by Spotify. Folks can still add their votes and comments in order to support it. We'll update it, once it gets the required votes. You can check this article for more information about how your feedback reaches Spotify.

Hi Ver,

Thanks for the reply. The link you provided for the collaborative playlist seems to be a bit of a work around, and not much of a solution. As you can see by the link I provided, more people are complaining about this bot adding music to their collaborative playlists. Would be good to know if Spotify is looking into this issue, and also a proper fix to how we can ensure collaborative playlists are only able to be edited by people that the owner allows.

Look forward to your response to this.

Cheers,

Eursula

Hi there @eursula,

Thank you for your reply and feedback.

We're always testing things by adding or removing features to make Spotify better overall and we’re constantly aiming to improve our features. We’re sorry that this means you’re not able to use Spotify like you wish to do at the moment.

At the moment we can't say when or if this will be taken in to action.

Once again - thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it. Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

Take care!

Hi there,

Thanks again for the reply. I do however think you're skirting around the issue, it's not cool if a bot can trawl through and add random songs to your playlist, does that not seem like a flaw and and issue to be addressed. There are lots of users noting the same issue, while it might be a 'nice to have' function on our playlists to only allow certain users to add, at the very least you should be looking into the issue of a bot trawling and adding their songs to peoples playlist, one would think?

Thanks,

Eursula

Hi again @eursula,

Thank you for getting back in touch 🙂

We understand that things can feel frustrating when things don't work as you'd like them to. Rest assured that we're always trying to improve as we always strive to improve our features.

There's also this idea that you can leave a +VOTE for and Subscribe to for any updates about this.

Note: A Not Right Now status comes after the idea has reached the correct teams and for transparency we've put that status. It's not impossible to get it in the future, but we cannot make any promises

We hope for your understanding and that you continue using Spotify and find it gets better in the future.

Take care!
