My Question or Issue

When I click the download button on Spotify I just get a spinning loading icon and it does not download anything. I have done some research about this problem. I think I may have reached the 10000 song limit. But when I go onto the spotify page to sign out of all devices and sign out everywhere the problem still persists. Is there anything I can do about this problem or should I just make a new account and subscribe to Premium on the new one?

The problem is not my internet connection being to slow(1Gig down and 50mbits up) or my phone(I already tried fix the problem by factory resetting my phone).

Help would be cool

Hey @Julius04,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Before you jump into a new account, you might want to try this:

  1. Uninstall the Spotify app
  2. Remove your SD card
  3. Install the app again, but without putting the SD card back in the phone

Try downloading a playlist like that and let us know if it works. You might want to try with a small playlist or a podcast episode.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

I already tried that. Unfortunatley that doesnt fix the problem

Hey @Julius04

Thanks for letting us know.

Would you mind trying to download your content again with a different internet connection to check if that makes the difference?

If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your phone and see if the same happens with a different account?

We'll be on the lookout.

I tried downloading music when I was at my Friends House and it didnt work. I had a Samsung Galaxy J5 2017. And I had the same problem there. Now my sister hast that phone and age does not have any problems downloading something in Spotify.

Hi there @Julius04,

Thank you for your reply and for the provided information.

Just to confirm, do you mean that your sister use the same phone and that she can download her content as normal on it?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Yes my sister uses the same phone and she can download content just fine

Hey @Julius04,

Thanks for keeping us posted!

Try removing a larger playlist from your downloaded songs and then download a small one with 10-30 tracks and let us know if that makes a difference, as there is a hard cap on the amount of offline songs one can have.

Hope that helps.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.

Cheers!

Sadly that does not seem  to solve the problem. If I try to download a small playlist Spotify downloads nothing and just gives me a spinning loading circle. I cant even remove big playlists because there arent any I could remove because I cant download any. Is there any way I can bypass this hardcap?
