Jumping to the bottom of the playlist to "recomneded songs"

Jumping to the bottom of the playlist to "recomneded songs"

Everytime I am out of the playlist. Either to add a song to another playlist. Or go out of spotify to another app, when I go back to the playlist, it jumps to the bottom of the playlist, to the "recomnede songs" for this playlist part.
It happens on a Samsung S22. Its updatet. It happend after the last update for Spotify. V8.9.94.470

So after tinkering a little, I have found out what is happening. When I go inn and out of playlist, it only loads about the 100 first songs. So since I am past that point, it shows the "recomended song" for this playlist. But after a few seconds, it loads the rest of the playlist and then since I am on the "recomended" part, it jumps to the end of the list. It happens to all playlist with over 100 songs. Those with fewer, it does not happen inn.

I have tried to reinstall the app. Restarting the phone. Tried with offline and online list. Tried with wifi and mobile data. And the problem prevail. Only thing that "fixes it" is if the playlist is shorter than ca 100 songs. Among my friends, I am the only one with this problem

Any one have any idea why this might happen

Hey there @ThomasFj,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know everything you've tried so far.

Can you confirm if the same thing happens when you log in to your account using a different device or if it's only happening on your phone?

Also, we understand you've tried reinstalling, but have you gone through these steps for a clean reinstall? This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

Keep us posted.

Hi there

So I tried all of the steps in the link (had to connect the mobile to computer to find the files tho) and that did not help.

I have only tried on a Windows app and it does not happen there. I do however have Spotify Family and it does not happen in my sons profile on a iPhone, so it might seem there is something on this phone making it happen.

I have now also tried on public playlist over 200 songs and it happens to them too, in case it was something with my playlists. But there is another thing I found out. If i am running Spotify on the same playlist for a few hours, the problem goes away untill I either close Spotify fully or change playlist...

Its really weird

Hey there @ThomasFj,

Thanks for your reply and for all the info shared.

It seems there is a more recent version of the app available to download on Android devices. Would you mind checking if you can update the app from the Play Store? If yes, check if you can replicate this behavior. Make sure to send us the exact version you're running as per this moment.

We'd also like to gather some additional info. Please send us the following:

  • We'd like to know if it's always behaved like that or if this behavior started after a specific event/update.
  • Does this happen if you open your son's account on your affected device? Since you mentioned this does not happen on his iPhone, we'd like to check if you notice this happening on your phone.
  • Share with us a video recording of this behavior. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Keep us in the loop!
