My Question or Issue

I have "compact mode" on. On every Windows startup, when Spotify starts up (manual restarts don't reproduce), the layout of the main screen is reset to the default, where the left sidebar is in the "album images only" mode and the Now playing right sidebar's width is like 2/5 of the window width.

It's simply annoying to have to reset to my preferred layout every time. What I prefer is the left sidebar set to minimum width in the "album names only" mode and the Now playing sidebar set to minimum width as well.

My Question or Issue

Since the last couple of weeks or so I notice that when I boot up my computer with Spotify the library sidebar is collapsed just showing the art covers. The playlists use the default cover that's generated and I like that, bt that means I don't recognise the list by the art only. Now I can resize it and then it shows both but it always just resets again and I have to change it back. It's annoying.

I might be overlooking it but is there a setting somewhere where I just see both the playlist art cover and the names of the playlists?

I know it's possible to toggle text only but I like having both the art and the name of the playlist. It makes it a bit easier to spot the playlist I'm looking for than by text alone.

My Question or Issue

Same thing is happening to me. Whenever I restart my Mac, the (I guess) default layout of Spotify comes back even if I change it to what I want every single time. I have failed to find a solution.

As as sidenote, this only happens by restarting the computer. If I close Spotify manually and then I restart it, the layout remains unchanged.

I have the same issue, so annoying.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Have you tried enabling/disabling Hardware acceleration to see if that does the trick? The option can be found in the app's Settings > Compatibility. If the issue persists, I'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app - this will rule out any potential issues with corrupted cache.

Let us know how it goes. Cheers 🤘
