There should be an option similar to liking a song - marking whole album as liked
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi there @kunstlich,
Thanks for reaching out. This has been possible for a good while now. You can just tap the plus symbol on mobile or the heart symbol on desktop at the top of any album and it will be added to Your Library. Then, going to Albums under the Library section will show you a list where the liked album will appear. Years ago, liking an album would also add all the tracks to your Liked Songs, but be advised that this is no longer the case.
Hope this clears things up.

Hello Joan, I have a problem with this implementation. While I like the way it's implemented (liking an album and liking all of its songs are two different things), I still see every song of that album under my Liked Songs from that artist when I visit that artist's profile, which is inconsistent with what you're describing. If liking an album doesn't mark every song as liked then I shouldn't be seeing every song of that album under My Liked Songs from that artist. I hope this gets fixed soon.
Hi @lucas_sg,
Thanks for reaching out.
Does this still happen with new albums you like? Meaning, if you mark an album with the heart/plus now, do all of the tracks off of that album appear in the Liked Songs? For albums liked in the past, it's to be expected to have the songs added, because the system worked differently then, but this shouldn't happen anymore. If you see that the behaviour is different for you, could you please send us some screenshots or a video of that so we can have a look? For the videos, if the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.
Let us know how it goes.
Joan, it's still happening with new "Liked Albums" too. Here are a few images I hope can show what's happening:
1. I don't have The Heavy's "AMEN" album liked.
2. After hitting the Like (plus) button I get every song under My Liked Songs in The Heavy's artist profile even though I never liked every individual song manually or by selecting them as a group and clicking on Add to Liked Songs.
I hope this behavior gets fixed so that having Liked Albums and Liked Songs make sense as two different "categories" or entities. I don't know why it's still working like this, maybe it could be added as a behavioral option in Settings so that the people who want to automatically like every song of an album can do so when they like the album, and those of us who don't want that behavior don't have to adhere.
Hi @lucas_sg,
Thanks for the screen recording!
Note that the Liked Songs section on the artist page is different than the Liked Songs playlist found in Your Library. The former will group both albums and songs by a particular artist you've tapped the plus button on, while the latter will include only songs.
The video you've attached shows you saving the album, however, the songs from it aren't added in your Liked Songs playlist, since you haven't manually tapped the plus button on each one of them. They'll still show up on the artist page though, since the Liked Songs section groups the two together.
If you have an idea about how to improve this behavior, feel free to share it on our Idea Exchange board. Others can then show their support by giving it a thumbs up and sharing their feedback. More info on the Idea Exchange board here.
Hope this clears things up. Cheers!
Hi Yordan, I understand but the naming is really misleading. Naming "Liked Songs" a group of songs that I don't like isn't accurate. When I want to download the songs that I like from that artist I have to manually download the ones that are in my Liked Songs playlist instead of the ones that appear in that artist's profile. I don't get why Spotify is making everything more confusing, it used be clearer before when the liked songs were liked songs and there wasn't a green tick on songs that I added to some playlist someplace even though I don't like the song. I'll be sure to propose the idea on the forum but it still baffles me that it's so complicated.
