Liking songs in Mac desktop app feels broken

Liking songs in Mac desktop app feels broken

Liking songs feels broken. I am on the Mac Desktop app and when I look at a playlist I have created there is no indication that I have liked a song. I can see this only if I click the 3 dots to the right of the song.

Clicking the checkmark just opens a menu to choose a playlist to add it to, it doesn't "like the song" as it (and the heart) used to do. So to like a song I have to use 2 clicks, which is annoying but not a dealbreaker. What is frustrating is that I can't immediately see in the playlist what songs I have liked.

If I go directly to the album, then every checkmark looks "selected," regardless of whether I have liked a song or not.

How I think it should work:
1. Albums/Playlists should behave/look the same.

2. I should be able to look, at a glance, in a playlist/album and see songs that I have "Liked."

3. Ideally adding a song to my list of liked songs should be 1 click, adding to other playlists should be what is 2 clicks.

4. The above would also have the added benefit of being able to remove songs quickly from liked songs, since you'd see a checkmark or whatever on every song and clicking it would remove the song.

Even if it works exactly as it does today, the sidebar to the right with more info about the song should at least have a button to quickly "like" the song.

I joined the Community just to like your post and emphasize this point. Removing this is such a glaring and baffling regression. They seemingly just can't stop making their apps worse.
