Hey there.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find an answer that suits my issue specifically. 

 

I can't get local files to play on my phone. They show up just fine in both my computer and mobile libraries, and they play on my computer with no issue. But on my mobile playlist, they're greyed out and unplayable. I synced my playlists, they're downloaded, both devices are on the same WiFi. I updated/reinstalled the mobile app. It's not an issue of them not showing up in either library, I just can't get them to play on mobile. They're just marked as unplayable.

 

Any and all help is appreciated.

I see you are having issues with local files, worry not. Before anything else, make sure that you read this brief guide about local files. It will clear your doubts and might actually solve the issue. Let us know how it goes, here to help!

I appreciate your help, but that mainly talks about the files not playing on the desktop. They play fine on my desktop, just not through my mobile app. They appear greyed out and unplayable in my playlist.

 

I did drop a like anyway though because I appreciate the effort. Thank you!

Thanks for the reply.

 

You can try connecting both your PC and phone to another network, like a mobile hotspot and reuploading your local files. 

 

Some home network setups don't support certain networking protocols which are required for the sucesful upload of local files on Spotify.
