My Question or Issue

Why is Local Files still so bad? After over 10 years, you still can't sort by album view, album art does NOT sync (it's in the file metadata and shows up EVERYWHERE else), and you still can't add over 10,000 local files to a playlist and have to break it up to sync. The biggest issue for me is that since it won't break things up into albums, it's almost impossible to sort. That plus having no artwork makes it look absolutely awful. Artwork has randomly showed up in my list, but not all of them by a long shot, even though they all have local artwork in the files themselves.

How has Spotify never come up with an iTunes Match equivalent? I really want to switch back from Apple Music because Spotify's recommendations are top-notch, but the handling of local files has been utterly broken for over a decade. I get it, you don't make money from local files - but it would be so nice to be able to switch back over completely and have a decent experience with songs you just don't and will never have.

This doesn't even touch on the fact that there's no indicators of ANYTHING anywhere. Progress bars for artwork, for syncing, for downloading. You can't tell where it's failing at all. How is this still a thing over ten years later?
