Malicious / Troll copyright claims

Malicious / Troll copyright claims

I recently received a number of bogus / fraudulent copyright claims on a number of my original songs. I am active on social media so it was probably a hater. My music was removed and I submitted counter DMCA notices

14 days have passed and no response from claimant (unsurprisingly) as it is a fake account and email! I contacted TuneCore who have reinstated my music. It is now back on all platforms apart from Spotify.

I am told by distributors and Spotify that the claimant must reply as resolved or they can't upload my music. What ???? That doesn't make any sense. It is a fake email from someone who is trying to blackmail me and cause me problems, why would he reply to an email to help me ???? This is exactly what he wanted to achieve lol

I have contacted Spotify and am now waiting for a reply from the escalation team. Hopefully they can sort this out. This is extremely frustrating. I have over 150k monthly listeners and 100m+ streams across all platforms. How can a random person fill in an online form and get all of my hard work removed within minutes ????

any advice would be appreciated.

Hey @jajuu,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

If you've already reached out to the Spotify for Artists team and are waiting for a response, that's all you can do now. We, the Community, don't have any access to the backstage area of accounts, content, etc. so we can't provide any insight on this, especially when it comes to topics like this.

I hope this clears things up!
