My Question or Issue

Hello Everybody.

For many years I have been watching the changes in the Spotify app, especially regarding the then newly added "feature" Discography.

Previously (~4-5 years ago), it was possible at any time to select "Show Albums" via an artist's context menu, and especially to filter this grid. Say: full text search via album name.

Since the current update, the option to show "albums" of artists has disappeared. It is now only possible to view the discography.

How can I search for an album within the discography now?
I just don't understand why an application based mainly on GridViews creates a dedicated view where you can't search.

I listen to a lot of artists (audiobooks for example) that have over 200 album and if I want a specific album from this set, I may scroll to infinity.

Does this leave me only the great global search? Where I then have to write the artist name in front of each time, because otherwise I get over 9000 search results?

I am frustrated.

Is there a search option in the discography or am I too stupid? 🙂

Hey there @Anothercoder,

Thank you for your post and feedback.

This is expected behavior. However, there's currently an idea - [Artist Page] Filter on Album / Artist Pages. You can leave a +VOTE and Subscribe to the thread for any updates.

We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app.

Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

Take care!
