My Question or IssueScreenshot_20191006-213559_Spotify.jpg

I've downloaded podcasts to listen to offline (or so I thought) but everywhere I look for more info on offline mode it says it should be in settings. I recall having this as an option before but it's not there... I've updated the app, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. There is still no option to go into offline mode in my settings in the app. Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions on how to actually listen to these "downloaded" podcasts in offline mode without using data to do so?

Hi @Mpearson138

Please, check this Support Article on downloading content on Spotify.

If you want to read more about Podcasts, head here

Let me know, if you need anything else.

Downloading is not the issue. It's actually going into offline mode. In the included picture, where the  "offline mode" option should be- it's not.

Hi @Mpearson138

Offline Mode is available only for Premium users.

However, you can still download Podcasts as a Free user:

  • Go to the Podcast you're interested in.
  • Select an episode you want to download and click the download symbol -
  • Go to Library.
  • Choose Podcasts.
  • And there should be a category with all your downloaded Podcasts.

Let me know if you need anything else.

But they still won’t play without a data connection? I have podcasts downloaded but the playback won’t start until I turn my cellular data on. Is that normal?

Hi there @user-removed,

Thank you for reaching out in this thread.

Can you perform a clean reinstall of the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If that doesn't do the trick, can you try to download the podcasts with a different internet connection to see if the issue persist?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!
